Think of dental implants as artificial tooth roots, similar in shape to screws. When dental implants are placed in your jawbone, they bond with your natural bone. They become a sturdy base for supporting one or more artificial teeth, called crowns. A connector – known as an abutment – is placed on top of the dental implant to hold and support your crowns. The crowns are custom-made to match your natural teeth and fit your mouth.

The advantages
All-On-4 Dental Implants
For some people, one implant is just the beginning of a full mouth of permanent dental restoration. Our team can help you achieve a new, healthy smile in a peaceful and relaxed setting. Dr. Waich is highly skilled in performing full arch (or all-on-4) dental implants.
The advantages of getting a dental implant are so many. Among them:
- You improve the appearance of your mouth and smile, since they look and feel like your own teeth, and they are permanent. They will definitely boost your self-esteem too!
- They are so comfortable. Why? Because they become part of you since they fuse to the bone.
- They are durable. With proper care, they can last a lifetime.
What is a Full Arch Dental Implant?
During an all-on-4 procedure, Dr. Waich will place four implants on the top or bottom arch (or both, depending on your needs), and then a full arch of teeth will be attached. At Sonrisas Dental, we use the highest quality titanium material for each implant. Over time, these implants will fuse to the jaw itself, becoming a natural fit and the best option for comfortable, permanent teeth.
Implants are placed in a three-part process, starting with the implant itself, followed by an abutment (the connector that holds the tooth or many teeth in place), and then the final touch- a crown.
Taking Care of Your Missing Teeth in 3 Easy Steps!
Dental Implant is placed
Dr. Waich, through a surgery, will open the gum and drill some holes into the bone. She will then place the dental implant metal post.
Wait for bone growth
Once implant is placed into the jawbone, the process of Osseointegration begins. In this part, the patient waits for the bone to fuse and unite with the dental implant in a natural organic way. This can take several months.
Abutment is placed
Dr. Waich will do a minor surgery on the patient, where she will place the abutment and the crown, and will close the gum around it. The artificial tooth is then attached.
